Fortitude Bakehouse
35 Colonnade, London WC1N 1JD, United Kingdom £3.95
First up on my cinnamon bonanza is the rather popular doughy bun from Fortitude Bakehouse located in London. If you wish to try out this bun, I would recommend getting to the bakehouse early doors (7:30am weekdays & 8:30am weekends) to avoid the inevitable queues due to its reputation, unless you’re able to wait patiently in line for a blooming good cinnamon bun.
Where is Fortitude Bakehouse?
The bakehouse is situated along an old cobbled London alley way, and is extremely quaint, with minimal seating (benches) directly outside the bakehouse, so bare this in mind… Could be a grab and go situ. I did not notice nor see any parking available close or near by unless you wish to pay and absolute fortune for London parking (Just get the trains!). The smell from the bakehouse was immense and although I was there for one thing and one thing only, the temptation to try/buy their other baked goods was ruddy strong.
The bun
The bun was crisp yet soft on the outside with a crunch from the cinnamon sugar, of which will smother your lips, when you first bite into it. In my opinion the size of the cinnamon rolls is perfect, every layer packed full of cinnamon flavour wrapped in a perfect swirl. It’s literally too good! I personally prefer a cinnamon roll with buttercream as its topping however, Fortunate has added just the correct amount of cinnamon sugar to coat the generously sized roll from top to bottom.
The texture overall towards the middle is doughy, gooey and packed full of the cinnamon flavour but definitely not overbearingly sweet. I would gladly go back to Fortitude and get a dozen of these buns and share them with no one!
Go get one!
I would have this again!

What is there to do in London?
London’s one of those cities that truly has a bit of everything. Start with the classics—visit Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and the iconic Tower Bridge, where you can snap some of the best city photos. Wander along the Thames or hop on a riverboat to get a whole different view of the city, from the historic buildings to the shiny new skyscrapers.
For museum lovers, you’re spoiled for choice: the British Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the Tate Modern are all free and packed with fascinating exhibits and a good rainy-day plan too (Just remember to book and or arrive early!). If you’re into markets, head to Borough Market for amazing food, Camden Market for the quirky markets, and Portobello Road for vintage finds. Grab a bite from a street food stall or settle into a traditional pub for some bangers and mash.
And don’t forget to stroll through London’s famous parks. Hyde Park, Regent’s Park, and St. James’s Park are all lovely spots to relax and take a break from the city’s bustle. If you want a bit of culture, check out the West End for some incredible theater or catch live music in places like Soho and Shoreditch.
